New tooth

Image
In a very weird turn of events... Izzie got a new tooth this week. She was missing 2... and this one just came in. I saw her chewing on her hand a lot on that side but didn't think anything of it. I don't know if it's a baby tooth or an adult tooth but it's coming in at a weird angle so... it might need to be pulled.

Great Wolf Lodge

Image
Great Wolf Lodge was super fun. Izzie got her nails painted for the first time - she picked her colors. The fingers were tough but she was great for her toes.

The Lucky Few raised $7073! We were the #2 top fundraising team! And the largest team. David Muradian and Michael Moore were on our team. Amy McKinstry too!

Guess who is in a big girl bed? We needed to switch her to that because this was happening:

Open house

Image
Izzie's open house was tonight. She's in pre-k 3 again with the same teacher she had last year. She loooooved her. We did too. Also, one of my former student's kids is in her class.

Big girl bed

Izzie deliberately went into Jackson's room tonight and said "light off". She fell asleep after cuddling for a minute. Such a big girl. <3 Don't worry I woke her up, changed her and put her in her crib shortly after the pic was taken.

Potty

Image
Izzie has started to loosely use the potty. She will say "pee potty" and go to the bathroom. About 50% of the time she pees. She's never pooped.

Hips

Image
Izzie started to have a weird gait in July so we scheduled an appointment with her orthopedic doctor. He said she looks great for a 3 year old. She's running and walking fine. He even xrayed her hips. Says she no longer needs orthotics. The gait was likey due to a minor injury.

Hanover Hero

Scott got awarded a Hanover Hero for all the work he does for MDSC. It came with $1000 to MDSC as well as his picture posted all over the place.

MDSC Advocacy Day

Image
Today Izzie and I attended our first ever Down syndrome Advocacy day at the state house. First, we were given a parking spot in the private parking lot which we were told had never been done by someone at this event before.  Then we listened to a bunch of speakers including Mark Okerbloom from Fox 25 who emceed it. Then we took this picture.  Then we had lunch. At 1:00p we met with State Senator Michael O. Moore and Representative David Muradian. We discussed  1. Higher education bill - support legislation to provide college access for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Go to college, take courses, participate in clubs and groups. 2. Ask governor Baker to support MDSC line item 5911-1 003 Earmark funding $175,000 for MDSC. 3. Support Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and UMass Down syndrome clinic line items - $150,000 for UMass DS clinic via Senate budget 4510-3010. After Mr. Muradian gave us a tour of the state house including letting us clim
